The Siegel–Schwall Band is an American electric blues band from Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1964 by Corky Siegel (harmonica and piano) and Jim Schwall (guitar), and still tours occasionally.
It was in 1966 that Seiji Ozawa wanted to bring the blues style of the Siegel-Schwall
Band onto the symphonic stage. Corky Siegel has been bringing blues to classical music ever since (see Chamber Blues). This clip is from a 1971 PBS "Great Performances" presentation with Arthur
Fiedler, Boston Pops, and Siegel-Schwall performing a clip of William Russo's Three Pieces for Blues Band and Symphony. Siegel-Schwall was formed in 1965 and this is the eairlest known video of
the group.
